Saturday, Kindra and I returned to Mashiko to pick up the pottery we made a while back. Here are the results of all of my work. While it shrank about 50% I was happy with how it all turned out.

Greetings,
Found your blog in my daily Google search on Mashiko and Pottery.
Did you know there is a Mashiko potter who shows in Dublin?

Masa and I both studied with Shoji Hamada's student, the late "Ningen-Kokuho" (Living National Treasure) Tatsuzo Shimaoka in Mashiko. His wife Darice Vari is teaching art in Ohio in the school system.
I lived in Mashiko 8 years: 3 years apprenticeship and 5 years running my own pottery. Moved back to Minneapolis last year. My wife Jean is finishing up her teaching contract at a Catholic Girls H.S. school near Utsunomiya. She prepares young women for a year abroad Moves back here in May.
Small world!
